- Materials: Custom built J185 DADGAD Acoustic Guitar, 24.9″ scale, 16 fret guitar with Engleman spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides with rosewood and cherry back stripe and end graft, Jatoba fret board, binding and rosette design with Jatoba and rosewood, Waverly tuners, Jatoba fret board with Rosewood binding, bone saddle with string spacing of 2 1/2″ and 1 15/16″ nut, EM6000 finish, medium nickel fret wire, 16″ two-way adjustable truss rod, custom double X bracing, white side dots, Jatoba head veneer, cherry hand carved neck.

This custom built J185 DADGAD acoustic guitar was the inspiration of my mentor, John Whiteside. He loved playing DADGAD and designed bracing specifically for a guitar built to play only DADGAD tuning. With his guidance, I built this one.
