More about this guitar

The idea for this guitar came from an article in American Lutherie Magazine in which a luthier built a guitar using a New York Taxi theme. I thought, “How Cool”. Having a background and interest in graphic art, I decided on a geometric theme. Triangles of contrasting color throughout the guitar. Each area had to mirror the one before and after it. I really like the body size of the 1969 Harmony Stella I renovated and have built several guitars of this size. They are perfect for songwriting and studio work. It’s very comfortable to hold and play. The all Sipo Mahogany top, back and sides give it a really nice, mellow tone. The geometric design is crafted from Bloodwood and Maple. All hard woods in contrast to the soft mahogany.
